Congratulations to Taylor in Year 12 who is an England Talent Pathway goalkeeper.  Last season, Taylor was chosen to join the Talent Academy, which is part of a national network dedicated to nurturing the highest potential athletes aged 15 to 18. This academy offers an educational program designed to prepare young athletes for the challenges of junior international hockey.

This summer, Taylor was selected to represent Guildford as their hockey goalkeeper at the England Talent Pathway Hockey Festival. Held at the prestigious Nottingham Hockey Centre, this event marked the culmination of the Talent Academies hard work throughout the season and brought together players from across England and Wales to play against each other in the bid to win the Cup.

The festival featured over 480 female players from 24 teams competing fiercely for victory. Guildford triumphed in their pool, achieving a 5-2 victory against East Grinstead and a 4-1 win against the Wimbledon Talent Academy. They were victorious, winning whole the festival and emerged as the overall winners of the festival. A remarkable accomplishment for both Taylor and the team, and a personal touch was that the team was coached by SWPS Head of Hockey, Mr O’Connell.

A fantastic achievement, for both Taylor and Mr O’Connell.
