Rowing at SWPS
Due to the endurance nature of the sport, rowing training continues during holiday periods apart from the summer break. Training levels in this period will be tailored to the age of the squads with a variety of sessions to continue the rowers development throughout the season.
SWPSBC holds two yearly training camps:
The first in October half term in Portugal for J16 and Senior Squads to develop their small boat sculling skills and transition into the winter training block.
The second during the Easter break for J15/J16 and Senior Squads. This camp is used to help further the development and speed of racing crews moving into the summer regatta period with The National Schools Regatta often only 6 weeks away.
