BOAT CLUB PARENT COMMITTEE
At Perkins we have a thriving culture and community, and our parents play a huge part in that! The Boat Club Parent Committee provides fantastic support to ensure our rowers have an amazing all-round experience of a Club, with fun social events spread throughout the year.
Parent Have-a-Go-Row, Christmas Pudding Races, Quiz Night and the end of season BBQ are wonderful events to gather the whole Boat Club family together! The biggest and most impressive set-pieces are the Gala Dinner and Awards Night each March, and the Perkins Marquee on the banks of Dorney Lake at the National Schools’ Regatta every May. They provide the most brilliant, feel-good atmosphere which we look forward to all winter long, as well as raising funds to help provide top-level equipment for our rowers. In recent years, Parent Committee Fundraising has purchased new oars and a telemetry system for the 1st Eight!
The Committee is always on the lookout for new parents wanting to get involved with the Boat Club - aside from the daily engagement with your child’s rowing at home, helping via the Parent Committee is the best way of contributing to making rowing as amazing an experience at school as it should be!
