Current SWPS Year 9 student, Rosie G, who had the opportunity to row alongside SWPS Alumni and Olympic Bronze Medallist Hattie Taylor as part of the latest GB Rowers Charity Day at the Upper Thames Rowing Club. During the summer, Rosie participated in various fundraising activities to earn the opportunity to row with Hattie and other members of the GB Rowing Squad as part of an athlete purpose project. The event concluded in a Q&A session with Hattie Taylor and fellow Olympic Bronze Medallist Annie Campbell-Orde answering questions from the rowers. Rosie was also presented with a thank-you medal in recognition of her fundraising efforts.
Reflecting on the experience, Rosie shared, “It was very inspiring to meet Hattie, and she was kind enough to let me hold her medal. I’m so pleased that I got the chance to meet her.” Rosie’s enthusiasm and gratitude for the opportunity were palpable and thank you Rosie for representing our school with such grace and enthusiasm.
