Voice of the Sixth Form

The sixth form community has a place for everyone to get involved. Whether it's leading clubs for the lower school, organising the Year 13 ball or joining the senior prefect team, there's something for you. Teachers are always happy to encourage and guide us to learn beyond the curriculum in our subjects, and offer any support needed to help do the best we can in our A Levels.  I've found that no matter what my plan is after SWPS, there is consistent guidance and advice to help me achieve my goals.

The warmth and happiness at SWPS sixth form is what makes it such a privilege to study at. Aside from the incredible facilities and study areas in our common room, I think my favourite part about being a SWPS sixth former is the huge variety of opportunities available to us: we are able to run clubs for the lower school, attend subject-based trips and compete in competitions as well as applying for roles of responsibility in order to make our own personal contribution to the school. The constant support of teachers who are passionate about their subjects is what stretches us achieve our full potential by reading beyond the specification, whilst the smaller class sizes encourage open debate and academic conversation. Throughout the early stages of my university applications, I have received unparalleled support from staff and the friendships which I’ve made during my time so far in the sixth form community I know will last a lifetime.

The community in the SWPS sixth form is second to none: the atmosphere walking up to the common room brightens my mood every day.  The close-knit community means everyone can find their voice and I have made friends for life in the sixth form.  We are provided with exceptional support from all of our tutors and subject teachers who are enthusiastic and excited to help us with anything from classwork to university applications.  I have received encouragement from all the inspiring teachers and their doors are always open to talk to you outside of lessons.  My favourite part of the sixth form is the endless leadership opportunities we are offered:  from prefect roles to sports matches and music concerts - there is something for everyone!  The inspiration we receive everyday gives us the confidence to follow our dreams for the future.
