Life in the Sixth Form

A Levels, leadership and preparations for life beyond SWPS… these two years are an exciting time and the pinnacle of everything you’ve worked for, whether you’re moving up from our Year 11 or joining us from another school.

The Sixth Form at SWPS introduces a world of new opportunities, both intellectual and personal. It’s why so many students describe the final two years at SWPS as their very best. Here, you’ll receive outstanding teaching, achieve exceptional A Level results, and quickly feel at home in a place that’s buzzing with activity and fun.

In lessons, we aim to draw students out of their comfort zone and encourage a spirit of enquiry and debate. Extra-curricular opportunities in Sixth Form are diverse and include the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme, Model United Nations and the chance to lead one of the many societies. With a colourful mosaic of enrichment opportunities available – academic societies, national competitions, leadership roles, independent learning projects, incredible speakers and exciting trips – each student has the freedom to direct their learning and to flourish.

Our enrichment programme provides a host of opportunities to spark the imagination, to engage with new people and places and to develop new skills.

The Sixth Form is a lively and diverse community. Students will have chances to produce plays, run societies, edit the school magazine and get involved in charitable endeavours, as well as step forward for the traditional Head Prefect team and captaincy roles. Our comprehensive Futures Programme, focusing on higher education and careers, helps to put all our leavers on their individual paths to success.
The Sixth Form is characterised by ambitious, motivated students who are ready for independent study. With a reputation for outstanding A Level outcomes, we have an impressive track record that sees our students progress to their chosen university course or destination.
