During the Safer Internet Week at SWPS, several important initiatives were undertaken to ensure a safe and enriching online environment for our students. The theme for this year’s Safer Internet Week was “Inspiring Change,” and our focus was on the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education.
To kick off the week, our students participated in a special assembly dedicated to understanding the role of AI in education, as well as in society. The assembly introduced students to the opportunities AI presents in supporting their learning journeys and shaping the future of education.
Students engaged in a comprehensive course in form time designed to deepen their understanding of AI and its applications in education. This course empowered them to explore the various ways AI can enhance their learning experiences and equip them with valuable skills for the future.
One critical aspect of the course was addressing the issue of plagiarism. As technology evolves, so do the challenges associated with academic integrity. During the course, our students were guided through an exploration of the ethical use of AI tools, emphasising the importance of originality and proper attribution in their academic work. A crucial component of fostering a responsible and respectful online learning environment.
Together, we can ensure that our students are well-prepared to navigate the digital landscape, harness the benefits of AI, and contribute positively to the world around them.
