Our Year 10s had the chance to spend a day in the SWPS Sixth Form and sample A Level subject lessons. During the day the Year 10s settled into Sixth Form life with enthusiasm, finding out what makes life in the Sixth Form so special. Students took in a variety of different A Level lessons throughout the day. Within Design Technology, our Year 10 and Sixth Form Product Design students took the challenge of redesigning a pizza cutter!
They also had the luxury of some free periods during the day which they could make full use of the Sixth Form Centre, including the roof terrace. During the afternoon the SWPS students listened to talks from SWPS alumnae who are currently studying at Oxford University and Royal Holloway. Our Year 10s had plenty of questions for our guest speakers!
Feedback from the students about the taster day was overwhelmingly positive and we look forward to welcoming them as permanent members of the Sixth Form in due course.
Thank you to all the teachers for their inspirational lesson and Ms Tyler for organising the day. To find out more about SWPS Sixth Form and our new Director of Sixth Form, Mr Johnston, click here www.swps.org.uk/sixthform
