The transition from Year 11 to Sixth Form is an important milestone in the academic journey of our students. To provide Year 10 students with a glimpse of life beyond GCSEs, the Sixth Form Taster Day afforded Year 10 students the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the Sixth Form, interact with current Sixth Form students, and gain insights into the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.

The Sixth Form Taster Day was designed to offer Year 10 students a comprehensive understanding of life in the Sixth Form. They had the opportunity to attend six taster lessons, interact with teachers from various subjects, and have discussions with the Head Prefects Team. These interactions provided Year 10 students with a firsthand look at the academic rigour and the supportive learning environment that the Sixth Form offers.

The day was not just about academics; it also focused on the holistic experience of being a part of the Sixth Form community. Year 10 students were able to learn about the extracurricular activities on offer, involvement in school events, and the camaraderie that exists among the students. This aspect of the Taster Day helped Year 10 students envision the vibrant social life and sense of belonging that comes with being a part of the Sixth Form.

Throughout the day, Year 10 students were encouraged to ask questions, seek advice, and participate in collaborative group activities. This allowed them to gain valuable insights into the academic challenges and collaborative nature they will encounter in the Sixth Form.

The day concluded with Year 10 enjoying a Sixth Form Pizza party hosted on the lawn, and later both students and parents attended a presentation by the Head and Director of Sixth Form.  This was an opportunity for parents and students to speak to members of Sixth Form teaching and tutor teams, Senior Prefects team and to visit the Sixth Form Centre, providing students with an invaluable opportunity to step into the world of the Sixth Form, gain first-hand experiences, and interact with the vibrant community they aspire to be a part of.
