This term saw Year 7 students spend a day at Legoland, enjoying the captivating world of Lego SPIKE. The Legoland STEM sessions provided an opportunity for our Year 7s to immerse themselves in the world of robotics. Under the expert guidance of instructors, our students learnt about building, coding, and debugging Lego SPIKE robots.

Throughout the sessions, students were tasked with tackling algorithmic problems using logical thinking and creative problem-solving techniques. From mastering the intricacies of algorithms and Boolean logic to understanding the importance of sequencing and inputs/outputs, students navigated through a series of challenges that put their new found skills and knowledge to the test.  Working collaboratively to bring their robotic creations to life, they discovered the power of trial and error, learning from their mistakes and refining their designs with each iteration.

The knowledge and experience gained from the Legoland STEM sessions will be put to good use as the students transition into Year 8. Those who are interested in Lego robotics will have the opportunity to further explore their passion by joining the Lego SPIKE club in Year 8, where they can continue to expand their skills, unleash their creativity, and embark on new robotic adventures.
