On Wednesday 21 June SWPS hosted the inaugural SWPS Young Musician of the Year event, in which 21 of our most talented musicians competed to win the overall title of SWPS Young Musician of the Year 2022-2023. This event was adjudicated by Alex Edmundson, Principal Horn in the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Deputy Head of Brass at the Royal College of Music, London, who performed Franz Strauss’s Nocturne for our audience at the end of the evening. Congratulations to all those students involved. Our winners for each of the categories were:

It was an outstanding evening of exceptional performance from our SWPS Musicians and we hope they share a collective sense of pride for their professionalism and music making.
