The school was awash with excitement at our annual SWPS Showcase event on Saturday 1 July, as we entertained families with children looking to join the school in 2024.

Amongst many other things, prospective families delighted in meeting the new Head and our new Director of Sixth Form. Parents and children tried out rare instruments in Music, took in sporting displays on our grounds, gasped at experiments in Science, enjoyed practical activities in DT and Textiles, poetry writing in English, got theatrical in Drama and enjoyed a trip to the Boathouse. There were too many interactive activities for our visitors to enjoy to mention!

A huge thank you to all of the students who attended to help, and were amazing school ambassadors, the staff who attended to host in-classroom activities, sporting displays and welcomed and chatted to our many visitors, and all involved in preparing the site beforehand. It was truly a whole-school, SWPS family effort. Some enouraging comments from our visiting families who responded to a post-event survey:

“This was the first school I visited that did not sound like a sales pitch. Activities organised for the visiting children were very well taught of.”

“The activities in each classroom were so engaging, the teachers and students really provided a fantastic view of what SWPS is all about!”

“The whole event inspired our daughter and really impressed us as parents. Thank you for engaging our daughters curiosity and showing us a bit of the magic of SWPS!”

“We enjoyed every aspect. The head and all the teachers and indeed students were all so helpful and engaging. We were blown away.”
