I had the pleasure of going on the business/economics trip to the the Bank of England and Schroders (which specialises in investment banking). I found it an insightful experience into the world of work and found it especially useful to see possible career paths I could possibly take as a student who takes both economics and business A Level.

I also found the presentation at Schroders very helpful as they told us about the traineeships, internships and graduates schemes they offer as I was debating whether I take a year out before University to work out if this is the career path for me or whether I want to do an apprenticeship degree instead.

I found the tour of Schroders very exciting as they had all sorts of perks for people employed by Schroders and amazing facilities such as a gym, a GP and dentist in the office and even a media room where we all sat on a couch and could see ourselves on a big TV screen for podcasts to be filmed. I also found the bank of England very interesting as they had a lot of activities you could do such as setting interest rates to control inflation and it was also very informative.

Overall I had a wonderful time on this trip and would definitely recommend it to students in the future.
