Our Librarian, Mrs Vidgen, received a Master’s Degree in History of World Literature, then a Postgraduate Diploma in Library and Information Studies, and recently has also become a Chartered Librarian.

She loved reading from early childhood and was never found without a book (or several) to read, telling everybody she wanted to become an author herself.

After a brief career in teaching literature, she decided that her real vocation lies in librarianship and that was the best decision she had ever made.

The school library is a welcoming place, where everybody can feel at ease and Mrs Vidgen tries very hard to make it attractive for everyone. We have lots and lots of fantastic books, jigsaw puzzles, displays to catch the eye and promote various themes, and events that link to national initiatives, like World Book Day. Mrs Vidgen especially likes the opportunity to dress up in a costume and bringing literary characters to life.

In her spare time, Mrs Vidgen loves gardening and dabbles in creative writing, planning (one day soon) to become a published author. In the meantime, she just enjoys putting ideas on paper (or screen) and to create worlds for interesting characters.
