Oracy in Maths at SWPS is vital as it develops the ability to communicate mathematical ideas verbally. Developing Oracy skills in Maths helps our students articulate their thoughts, discuss solutions, and engage in mathematical conversations, fostering a deeper understanding of the subject.
To boost Oracy in Maths, we are currently using starters by incorporating mathematical concepts into riddles and encouraging students to discuss and solve them collaboratively. This helps develop their oral communication skills while reinforcing Maths understanding.
