Our Year 10 Geography students spent the weekend in Margam Discovery Centre, Port Talbot for their residential field trip at the beginning of March. One of our Year 10 students wrote a synopsis about the weekend. It was super to see our students’ curiosity and creativity and participation in this field trip.

“The year 10 Geography students travelled to Wales for their fieldwork investigations. It was intriguing to observe how what we learnt in the classroom comes into action in the real world. We spent a day exploring the changes in the Nant Phillip river’s characteristics downstream and another day evaluating Cardiff Bay’s regeneration. During both fieldworks, we learnt new skills such as using callipers, assessing environmental quality in areas and learning equations. This trip has created a positive impression of Geography GCSEs for me as I really liked the mixture of practical work as well as studying at a desk.”
