The Friends of Sir William Perkins’s School parents’ association (FoSWPS) aims to provide a link between parents and the school to raise funds to support the school with various projects. At the end of Sports Day, Mr Muller was presented with a leaving present from the Friends – a beautiful painting of the school – and we would like to thank Mr Muller for all his years of outstanding service to SWPS and to wish him well in his future endeavours.
The Friends of SWPS organise several social events during the year including the annual Quiz Night, and Christmas Fair. In addition, the association runs the second-hand uniform / equipment sales and provides refreshments at various school events such as musical concerts, Sports Day, and Carol Service.
The money raised has enabled FoSWPS to support the school in providing:
- A new Year 11 common room
- A refurbishment of the Textiles facility
- Six smart boards
- A trampoline for PE
- Furniture for the Jarvis Room
- Speakers and a microphone for Drama
- Support for the 2023 Leavers’ Prom
- Four house coloured gazebos for Sports events
- Two digital cameras and a dark room enlarger for the Art Department
