Since the summer our feet literally haven’t touched the ground! We have watched our DofE students thrive and enjoy new challenges in different ways including:

  • Two successful Gold qualifying expeditions in the Lake District, in truly horrendous weather!
  • One successful Bronze qualifying expedition in the Surrey Hills, with 100+ students and volunteers taking part
  • 22 post-expedition team presentations, with lots of chat about dogs!
  • One training weekend in the Brecon Beacons, Wales, where even the sun came out showcasing the beautiful vista
  • Three rounds of enrolment for each of the Bronze, Gold and Silver levels, with record numbers of sign ups!
  • Two pre-expedition training days, with bandaged students and Resusci Annie
  • Onboarding of 10 fabulous new parent volunteers, including three ultra-marathon runners
  • Completed awards for 63 Bronze students, 27 Silver students and three Gold students and still counting…..Congratulations everyone!
  • One newly trained DofE verifier. Welcome to the DofE team Ms Picton
  • One lively, interactive volunteer’s forum, with presentations of long service certificates

We are now looking ahead to our on-line expedition training programme alongside our outdoor adventures, the training walks and practice expeditions. Bring on the fun times and fine weather next term.
