The final week of term at SWPS is known as ‘Wellbeing Week’, and this year, the festive spirit combined with the SWPS community vibe was truly infectious.  The excitement began in the Sixth Form Centre where there were daily fun activities for the students. It was clear from the beaming smiles that the ‘Christmas Karaoke’ and candy cane hunt were big hits.

Our Year 10 students experienced cultural enrichment trip by visiting the Aachen Christmas Market, where they celebrated the festive season.

The form rooms came alive with the spirit of the season through the traditional Christmas-themed tree-decorating competition. Students excitedly transformed parts of their form rooms into festive wonderlands.

The cherished 9 Lessons and Carols Christmas Service took place at St. Peter’s Church. The serene ambiance of candlelight created a truly enchanting environment, enhanced by the beautiful performances of the SWPS Chamber Choir, Community Choir, and Year 7 Choir, uniting all in a joyful celebration of the holiday season.

Towards the end of the week, our student community gathered for the traditional and rather delicious Christmas lunch. The festive feast was enjoyed by both students and staff, who were all wearing their festive jumpers.

The Year 13 Christmas panto is a beloved tradition that the entire school looks forward to, bringing joy and laughter to the community. This year’s show highlighted exceptional creativity, humour, and witty dialogue, captivating the audience. The inclusion of dance routines and unexpected guest appearances by staff members enhanced the overall experience. Well done to our Year 13 students for their dedication and for presenting such an outstanding performance.

Wellbeing week was a fantastic way to wrap up the term leaving the whole school community feeling uplifted.
