Year 13 students Sana, Sarah, Inaara and Saanvi participated in the Tycoon Enterprise Challenge. They meticulously developed a business plan, applied for a loan, and managed their business from February to April.
Their company, ‘Bloom Bottles,’ was selected as a Tycoon Finalist from nearly 300 businesses across the United Kingdom. They were one of only two businesses nationwide to be nominated for both the Business for Good Award and the Innovation Award, ultimately securing second place in the national competition.
The team garnered widespread admiration for their handmade decorative light products, crafted from reusable plastic bottles. Their journey exemplified teamwork and innovation, showcasing their entrepreneurial spirit throughout. At the final event, they shared their experiences with Peter Jones and the guests, highlighting the challenges they encountered, the strategies they employed to overcome them, and their future aspirations.
This remarkable achievement marks the first time a SWPS Tycoon Enterprise team has attained such a prestigious level of success in this award.
Attending the Peter Jones Foundation Tycoon award ceremony was a fulfilling experience as we were able to interact with other finalists and develop our networking skills whilst generating ideas on how to improve our business. We were also able to explain the concept and objectives underpinning our business to Peter Jones, where we were met with wise advice on how to advance and succeed. Overall, this was a very advantageous event and allowed us to gain masses of insight into the world of entrepreneurship.
