Year 12 Biology Fieldwork Visit to Amersham Field Studies Centre

The Year 12 biologists had a lovely sunny day in June working with an Ecologist in both woodland and meadow habitats. They were able to collect data and put into practice the different practical sampling techniques to assess plant species biodiversity. Well done everyone for a productive day in the field getting back to nature!

 

Royal Society of Biology Challenge

Congratulations to all Year 10 students who entered the Royal Society of Biology Challenge. 43,685 students from 621 schools worldwide took part in this year’s competition. We achieved 8 Gold (5% of all participants nationally received a Gold Award), 7 Silver, 13 Bronze, 8 Highly Commended, 14 Commended, and 15 Certificates for Participation.

 

Year 7 trip to Marwell Zoo

On 21 June, the Year 7s set off on their to Marwell Zoo we started the day by seeing the Rhinos and Gazelles while we were on top of a bridge. We also got told about the conservation of the animals by our lovely Tour Guide. Next, we saw some Giraffes they were so tall that we stared at them for ages! We were lucky enough to see some Snow Leopards they were very pretty and fierce we also saw some baby Tamarins they were adorable! We all really enjoyed are trip thank you so much Miss Armitage and the rest of the staff!
