Mike Bannister is a lifelong career pilot. Most famously Chief Pilot of the British Airways Concorde fleet from 1995 until its 2003 retirement, he became its youngest pilot in 1977. Over 22 years he accumulated 9,600 Concorde flight hours, including 7000 supersonic, becoming the World’s most experienced Concorde pilot. He is very active in the voluntary sector including being Chair of Governors of Sir William Perkins’s School, Vice Chair of Brooklands Museum Trust, Secretary of the British Airways Air Cabin Crew Fund and President of 398 Squadron Air Cadets. Currently an Aviation Consultant and bestselling author and lecturer, Mike has also raised over £450,000 for good causes. His awards include the L’Association Aéronautique et Astronautique de France‘s renowned ‘Prix Réussite’.
