Wear Pink Day for Refuge UK

Hannah and Emilia in the Senior Sixth organised a ‘Wear Pink Day’ on 29 April 2021 to raise funds for the charity Refuge UK.

Set up in 1971, Refuge UK supports women who are victims of domestic abuse and violence; they help to support women and children to rebuild their lives in an environment free from fear. COVID and lockdowns have highlighted the size, spread and far-reaching impacts of the issue in society and Hannah and Emilia decided to make a stand.

Students from Years 10-13 embraced the initiative and demonstrated solidarity with women who are trying to change their lives to raise money for the charity that helped them. The latest total raised is reaching £950!

Please help to support the amazing work of this charity by following the link to Hannah’s Just Giving Page and donating - even the smallest amount makes a difference. Funds raised help to provide shelter for women trying to escape domestic violence, access to legal aid and resources to help women start their lives again. Funds also help to pay for translators and experts who reach out to women whose plight may be worsened by language and cultural barriers.
