I'm Charlize and I'm currently in Year 11. I've been playing hockey since I joined SWPS in Year 7 and I have enjoyed every minute of it. I have always felt welcome in the SWPS hockey team from when I was an uncoordinated Year 7 who didn't know how to hit a ball, up to Year 11 where I now regularly compete in A team matches.  Not only do all our teams benefit from excellent training from skilled coaches, we also compete regularly against other schools which is not only paramount for improving technique and experiencing playing competitively against other schools, but it is also great fun! One of the highlights from my time on the hockey team was the trip to Dubai. Not only did we get to play hockey in amazing venues, we also visited many cultural locations and enjoyed some fantastic experiences such as camel riding, walking round the backstreet markets in Abu Dhabi and visiting some of the world's most elaborate mosques in Dubai. It was an unforgettable experience.
