The International World Book Day (WBD) was celebrated by the SWPS community and the Library. With an array of events and competitions organised throughout the week, students were provided with lots of different ways to celebrate their love of reading.

World Book Day Competitions

Students across the school were encouraged to draw upon their creativity and artistic abilities to invent a unique Potato Head Character. Additionally, other various activities for World Book Day included creating ‘BookFace’ images, in which students selected a book and substituted the cover with a part of themselves.  Some of the winning entries can be seen below.

Murder Mystery House Competition

In an exciting twist to the World Book Day celebrations, the Library underwent a transformation into a murder mystery setting for a House Competition centred around the game “The Curious Case of the Clockwork Cleaner”. Within their Houses, students were tasked with solving the crime to accumulate House points, with Londsale being victorious.

We hope the whole SWPS community enjoyed engaging in our WBD celebrations and are inspired to embrace the magic of books and celebrate the joy of reading.
