In a dazzling display of scientific brilliance, 18 exceptional Year 13 SWPS biologists competed in the highly prestigious Royal Society of Biology Olympiad in early February. This nationwide competition, designed to test the depth of knowledge and understanding in the
field of biology saw an impressive participation of over 13,000 students from more than 800 schools worldwide.
Our budding biologists completed two 45-minute papers that covered a wide range of topics in biology, both familiar and novel. From ecology to biotechnology, the Olympiad provided a comprehensive assessment of their knowledge and skills.

SWPS is proud to acknowledge the remarkable achievements of our Year 13 biologists, with Jessica’s exceptional performance in securing a Gold award, and four students receiving Silver awards, along with four students receiving Bronze awards. Jessica is now eligible to enter the international Biology Olympiad selection process.

Their dedication and excellence are truly commendable, especially considering the proximity of the Olympiad to their A Level Mock Examinations.  Congratulations to all 18 students for their outstanding performance!
