Complete our simple Application/Registration Form and registration fee payment (£100); following which you will receive advance invitations to popular events, such as our Year 5 Taster Day, and our full Examination Information Pack (November of your Year 6).
In November of applicants' Year 6, we send out our official paperwork for you to complete and return. This includes details of timings, what to wear/bring, scholarship and bursary information, important dates throughout the process, and a chance to express an interest in a particular coach route.
Our Entrance Exam takes place on a single morning and contains four papers in total: two Mathematics papers, and two English papers, with a short break between subjects. We provide drinks and snacks to maintain energy reserves!
By the Friday following the Entrance Exam, our English and Maths departments will mark all papers and our Head will be in a position to offer places and Academic Scholarship interviews. We ensure that results leave the school in Friday's post with the intention that they arrive with your Saturday post, just one week after sitting the exam!
If you are offered a place, you will have a short period to make your decision. There are opportunities to revisit the school to help make your final decision. Once you're sure, accept your place by returning the acceptance slip and paying your deposit (£750), this can be either by cheque or through the school's secure online payment system.
That's it! You're in! But in the meantime we want to help you to: Get to know each other...
You'll receive an invitation to our Easter Chertsey Trail, where you form teams with other students and parents to discover the surrounding area's history and points of interest - but the main purpose is to make new friends!
Then there is the chance for grandparents to visit us on their special day in the summer: our Grandparents' Open Morning.
Also there is our Year 7 Welcome Party, held at the end of the Summer Term where students can come to SWPS to find out more about form groups, meet form tutors and find out about all of the things that we can help you organise before starting.
If you have any queries over the summer, please contact us by email. We look forward to meeting our new Year 7 students in September!
Forever!
